The LAFD Interoperability Suburban visited the CANNDU Community Center in South LA during an LAFD ACS Ham Radio Mentoring session on Saturday, November 5, 2005.
Captain Kevin Nida educated the core group of Neighborhood Council Leaders who regularly participate in the Mentoring on the 'ins-and-outs' of this highly specialized vehicle.
Nida also serves as the President of the California State Firefighter's Association (CSFA). The CSFA holds a membership of more than 28,000 firefighters. Members include paid, volunteer, military and industrial firefighters, members of the California Department of Forestry, United States Forest Disaster Office, Office of Emergency Services (OES Fire and Rescue Division), State Fire Marshal's Office, State Fire Service and Training Program and California state-employed firefighters.
